    Nothing wrong with Poll Tax.

When the rateable value of my house was £140 per annum, I had:
Bins emptied every week. If I forgot to put it out, the binmen would come and get it AND my ashcan (Coal fire).
Road sweeper every month to clean the edges of the road.
Free skip every second week to get rid of matresses, bikes and all manner of garden crap.
A simple call would result in a flatbed coming to pick up fridges/freezers/cookers that had reached the end of their useful lives the following day.
A guy would come out every 3-4 months and pull the weeds out of the pavement and put weedkiller down.
More snow ploughs than you could shake a stick at!
That was for a little more than a tenner a month.
    Poll tax gave me:
Bins emptied weekly, IF they were with 1.8 metre's of the kerb. Ash had to be cooled than placed in your wheelie bin. If bin was too heavy, it was left.
    What road sweeper?
    No free skip at all!
Beds, Fridges, freezers and cookers are collected on different days and you can't put it out until the morning of collection or you will be fined.
Pavement relaced with tarmac..... which weeds grow through!
Dig out your path in front of your house or we'll fine you.

    For a £100 a month DT_Xtremez_17:
