A Conferência EU-Latin American Partnership on Raw Materials reúne a comunidade das matérias-primas minerais, incluindo os responsáveis pelas políticas, a indústria, o setor privado e a investigação e inovação na UE e na América Latina. Para além disso, a conferência é gratuita. A conferência pretende promover e aprofundar a cooperação e a troca direta de conhecimentos entre a UE e os países parceiros da América Latina, com base nos seus interesses comuns, objetivos e valores partilhados.
SOBRE
O mundo está perante desafios inéditos devido às mudanças climáticas e à crise económica desencadeada pelo Covid Tanto a UE como a América Latina precisam de trabalhar em conjunto para alcançarem uma recuperação sustentável. Os compromissos para com uma economia verde e neutra para o clima irão desencadear uma maior procura e diversificação de matérias-primas. Esta situação proporcionará oportunidades aos países com muitos recursos mas também uma pressão considerável, uma vez que as matérias-primas têm de ser produzidas de forma sustentável e responsável e contribuir para os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável, a começar ao nível das comunidades locais.

An economist by training, Gwenole has been an official in the European Commission since in the fields of Enterprise and Industrial Policy and of External Relations.
First working in the area of food industry within the Internal Market and Industrial Affairs Directorate-General (DG), he joined the service in charge of relations with Central and Eastern Europe and the USSR in , and became Assistant to the responsible Deputy Director-General in until when he came back to the Enterprise and Industry DG.
As a former Deputy-Head of Office of Commissioner Liikanen in charge of enterprise and industrial policy, he has occupied several management positions in:
&#; Food Industry and Biotechnology
&#; Co-ordination of the internal market legislation for goods
&#; Enterprise and Industrial policy
&#; Defence, Aerospace and Maritime Industries.
Since December , he has been Director, DG GROW (DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs), in charge of competitiveness issues and EU internal market legislation for several industrial sectors, including engineering industries, medical devices and raw materials.
