    PUBLISHER'S PREFACE

    ELBERT HUBBARD

Elbert Hubbard is dead, or should we say, has gone on his last Little Journey to the Great Beyond. But the children of his fertile brain still live and will continue to live and keep fresh the memory of their illustrious forebear.

Fourteen years were consumed in the preparation of the work that ranks today as Elbert Hubbard's masterpiece. In Eighteen Hundred Ninety-four, the series of Little Journeys to the Homes of the Great was begun, and once a month for fourteen years, without a break, one of these little pilgrimages was given to the world. These little gems have been accepted as classics and will live. In all there are one hundred eighty Little Journeys that take us to the homes of the men and women

    MY LIFE IN A NUTSHELL

The majority of my time is spent at school and doing homework. But in my free time I hang out with my friends, family, and boyfriend. I love to have a good time and to surround myself around upbeat people.

I am obsessed with movies and I am always trying to get into a television series. Currently my favorite shows are AMC's The Walking Dead and HBO's True Blood. When it comes to my favorite movie it is a toss up between The Lion King and Sweet Home Alabama.

My favorite hobby is hiking. In the past few years I have dedicated my free time and spare money to hiking. My brother and boyfriend are also into this hobby of mine and we go on hiking trips together. This past summer we completed 100 miles of the Appalachian Trail portion of the Great Smoky Mountains. I have high aspirations to complete the entire 2,100 miles of the trail by hiking in sections.

In the next 10 years I plan to live near the Smoky Mountains and have a house with a spectacular view. I plan to be married and have three dogs. I will work at the local community college as a communications instructor. On the weekends I will fill my time kayaking, boating, and hiking with my husband and dogs.
